The Kent Homelessness Coalition (MI-506 Continuum of Care) is actively accepting applications for the FY 2026 HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition.

For FY 2026, the CoC is eligible to apply for up to $11,479,865 in renewal funding. MI 506 CoC has reallocated $591,079 of funding for any new eligible project types, and $617,315 for new projects that are specifically focused on domestic violence. The anticipated amount available for general CoC Bonus projects is currently unknown and more than one bonus project may be submitted to HUD by the CoC.

The Coalition encourages both existing providers and organizations that have not previously applied for CoC funding to explore this opportunity. Please note that all applicants are required to present on their project application as part of the local competition process.

Are you passionate about preventing and ending homelessness in our community? We invite you to become a member of the Kent Homelessness Coalition!🏠

Membership is free and open to anyone who wants to make a difference, including nonprofit organizations, social service agencies, government representatives, community advocates, and invidiuals with lived experience of homelessness.

As a Coalition member, you'll have access to:
🔹 Voting rights on Continuum of Care (CoC) governance matters
🔹 Community data and updates on progress toward reaching functional zero homelessness
🔹 Information on local, state, and federal policy and funding changes
🔹 Opportunities to help shape system-wide strategies for ending homelessness in Kent County
🔹 Educational clinics, workshops, and best-practice learning opportunities
🔹 Networking and collaboration with others committed to strengthening our homeless response system

While all Coalition meetings are open to the public, membership gives you the opportunity to take a more active role in guiding our work and advancing community solutions.

Together, we can build a community where homelessness is rare, brief, and one-time.
