Today is the big day! Ever wonder what happens to your water after it goes down the drain?

Join us on today from 10 AM–2 PM for Water Pool-ooza at the WRRF, to explore the science behind the smell and see how used water is cleaned and safely returned to the Grand River—an essential part of the urban water cycle.

For the best experience, arrive at the Leslie E. Tassell MTEC Building, 22 Godfrey S.W., for hands-on learning stations and activities, and then take the free shuttle two minutes down the road to the WRRF to take a tour of the plant, then ride the shuttle back.

This free, open house–style event lets you drop in anytime between 10 and 2. Come learn something new and see the process in action!

New tree alert!
We partnered with Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds - Grand Valley Metro Council and Kent Conservation District to plant 20 new trees at the Lake Michigan Filtration Plant in West Olive!
This collaboration is part of the Forest to Faucets initiative, which helps improve water quality by increasing the number of trees that act as natural filters in our watersheds.
More trees = cleaner water for everyone

Even far from the ocean, Lake Michigan connects us to a bigger water system. What we do here matters everywhere.
💙 Keep it clean
💙 Use water wisely
💙 Protect our shoreline
Caring for Lake Michigan means caring for our oceans, too.
