Update — with heavy hearts.

Grand Blanc Police say the 76-year-old woman struck in the crosswalk at S. Saginaw St. and Reid Rd. on Saturday morning has died from her injuries. She passed away Saturday evening around 8 p.m.

Per Grand Blanc PD / ABC12: she was walking eastbound in the northern crosswalk when a vehicle turning left from Reid onto northbound Saginaw struck her. She had been taken to Henry Ford Genesys Hospital. Speed, drugs, or alcohol are not believed to be factors at this time. The investigation continues.

Anyone with information can contact Grand Blanc Police at (810) 694-1111.

We’re keeping her family and loved ones in our thoughts.

Please be kind to each other. ♥️

I can’t believe it has been 25 years since 9/11.

I remember sitting at Central Office when John Johnson turned on his television. We just sat there, watching in shock. We had no idea what was happening or what was coming next.

Twenty-five years have passed, but I can still remember that moment so clearly—the confusion, the fear, the disbelief, and the feeling that our world had suddenly changed forever.

We remember the lives lost. We remember the families who were forever changed. We remember the heroes who ran toward danger while others were running away.

Twenty-five years later, we will never forget. 🇺🇸

Congratulations, Captain! Thank you for hard work and dedication to our community!

Thirty years. That's how long Captain Bradley Hutchison has answered the call for Grand Blanc Township, and today we get to say thank you.

His story starts before he ever wore a GBTFD patch. Captain Hutchison served in the U.S. Air Force as a Crash-Fire Rescue Technician. When his military service ended, he brought that training home and joined our department as an on-call firefighter, earning his State of Michigan firefighting and EMT certification.

He never stopped building on it. He earned his Fire Officer 3 in 2009. A year later, he added confined space and rope rescue to the list, the kind of specialized skills that make the difference on the calls nobody else can handle.

Decades of training, teaching, and showing up. Countless residents have been safer because Captain Hutchison chose this work and stayed with it.

Congratulations, Capt. Grand Blanc Township is grateful, and so are all of us who have served alongside you.
