These are the very last 2 items purchased for the playground project effectively completing the entire project. The display case is installed with photos depicting the phase 1 construction. In time other photos will be shared . The adaptive ADA swing for ages 2-12 is on the way.
I’d like to take one final moment to say thank you to Erik Raykoff for all his efficient handling of funds along the way. The PTO officers, who agreed to handle funds and contributed nearly $2,200, in all towards the project, did not choose to take on the playground as a joint project since they had several other things planned. However, they did agree to have Erik handle our funds. This allowed purchases to be made tax exempt and also guaranteed proper monitoring throughout the project. His careful and accurate management was invaluable! I thank the PTO for this as well as their monetary contribution.
I again thank this amazing community and surrounding areas who helped by responding to the over 350 letters I mailed out seeking funds! The response was overwhelming. In all, almost $60,000 was raised to purchase all playground items. Likewise those who stopped by at the fair, the ice cream social and dollar general and those who purchased raffle tickets … Thank you! We chipped away at the costs slowly, but surely!!!
Thank you to the Town of Neversink who agreed to this project when I first introduced the idea AND for their initial start up funds.
And a HUGE thanks to all who physically helped in the construction, the playground committee and those who donated foods at the time of construction. ! *NOTE… ALL are honored on the sign at the playground site made by William Seward.
Finally, never underestimate what you can do if you have a dream! This dream has been made complete by watching so many children fully enjoying what it has become!
My sincere thanks to all!
