GOOCHLAND, VA - On June 11, 2026, at approximately 9:53 a.m., deputies with the Goochland County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported robbery at the Oilville Pit Stop, located at 1420 Broad Street Road.
The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the business and threatened to use a firearm if the employee did not hand over money. After obtaining the money, the suspect fled the scene on foot into a nearby wooded area.
Deputies quickly responded to the area and, through their immediate coordinated efforts, located and apprehended the suspect without incident. During the investigation and subsequent search of the suspect and area, no firearm was located.
The suspect was identified as Michael Ray Good, 59, of Richmond, Virginia.
Through the course of the investigation, deputies determined that Good had arrived at the business in a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Henrico County. It was also determined that Good had an outstanding warrant from Augusta County, Virginia for Failure to Appear on a charge of Driving Revoked, DUl-related.
As a result of the investigation, Good was charged with Robbery, a felony; Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, a felony; and Driving While Revoked, DUI-related, a misdemeanor. He is currently being held without bond at Pamunkey Regional Jail pending his court date.
