Hello Good Citizens
Needed a bit of a break from FB after the election craziness.
First of all Thank You Very Much to the people who voted for me! As a newbie I wasn't sure if I would win but am humbled that 1011 of my fellow townspeople felt I was worthy for the spot on the school board.
The election may be over but the fight for parental rights and transparency goes on and will be kicked into high gear. No "see you next year" for this concerned citizen. AlI can say at this point is, pay close attention to what's being done and how your tax dollars are being spent.
The voters have spoken concerning increased transparency as Articles 16 (Efficiency Study of Town Departments) and 17(Check register on Town Website) and School Article 4 (Check register on District Website) all passed.
I watched the School Board meeting they had this past Monday night and some members of the board are already hemming and hawing about whether or not they want to do what the voters have asked them to do. One of them even went on to say that the article was confusing and that some of the 1568 voters didn't know what they were voting for. All I can say is Wow!
If you did in fact vote for increased transparency with your tax dollars, please join me at the next School Board meeting on Monday April 7 and let them know that you were in fact not confused and that we, the voters have spoken.
