Yesterday was a moving memorial for those Brave Men and Women that have Died protecting all of us, and our way of Life in the United States of America. Sadly, the list has now reached 348, including Four that gave it all during 2025. I was honored to attend as a VIP representative of Glynn County Board of Commissioners 🫡

The Scranton Connector Sidewalk Project and Old Jesup Road Drainage Project are each in District 4. They are each significant in their own right, and I closely monitor progress through The County Manager’s Quarterly Ex*****on Results (QER) updates. A key responsibility that I have that is County-wide in scope is participating as Ex-Officio Member of the Convention and Visitors Board. In that role, I keep CVB apprised with the most up to date estimated timeframes to completion for such projects as Coast Guard Beach and Driftwood Beach (SSI) Boardwalk. Senior County Management provides regular updates. There is a lot happening in Glynn County!

The Bookery of Old Town looks like it will be very interesting! Owner Frieda Warner and her family team are very hands on with the redo of this 19th Century store space. Latest estimate is opening end of summer. Whenever possible, I like to support locally owned business in The Golden Isles!

District 4 Residents support First Friday and tonight I enjoyed walking through Downtown Brunswick for First Friday. Came across Mr. Doug Williams who lives in District 4. I had actually met Mr. Williams earlier in the day at his neighborhood so he could explain a situation that he wants to have resolved. I learned that he loves Classic Automobiles and sure enough, I found Mr. Williams admiring a nice collection of vintage cars at First Friday in Downtown Brunswick.

Enjoyed attending a fundraiser for Senator Mike Hodges and Rep Rick Townsend at The Village Inn on St Simons Island today. Mike and Rick work tirelessly to bring forth the issues and concerns that impact all of us in The Golden Isles, as our voice in the State Capital. Thank you Mike and Rick !

For awareness, I am not in this Runoff, but strong voter turnout is very important!

Early Voting for the June 16, 2026 General Primary Runoff will begin Friday, June 5 and run through Friday, June 12. All three locations will be open, Ballard, BOE, SSI Fire Station 2.

Hours will be:

Friday, June 5: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday, June 6: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Absentee-By-Mail applications are due by June 5. Election Day is June 16. Sample ballots are available on our website and your My Voter Page.

In District 4, this is a snapshot summary of the renovation project now underway at Goodyear Elementary School.
E-SPLOST dollars at work, supplemented by State grant money. I attended Goodyear Elementary in the 1960s, and this school dates back to WWII and the era of Liberty Shipyard worker family housing in Goodyear Park. 👍
