Happy (last day!) of National Volunteer Appreciation Week!

We are so excited to highlight one last intern this week. Camila Acosta is our Community Engagement intern who has stepped up to the plate to fearlessly take on multiple tasks. Our small Community Engagement team of 2 are incredibly grateful for Camila’s hard work and dedication to our office and the IRC mission. We would not be such a mighty team without her!

Thank you, Camila, for all that you do for us! We appreciate you! 💛

Happy National Volunteer Appreciation Week!

We’re so excited to highlight 2 of our interns today— Sofiia Ostrovska and Jonathan Narvaez! Sofiia works as an Economic Empowerment Intern and Jonathan has been a fellow and intern with our Immigration team. Both of them have contributed greatly to our IRC-LA team over the past year, and we are very appreciative of all their hard work. Swipe to see what their supervisors had to say about them!

Thank you for everything you guys have contributed to our office, Sofiia and Jonathan! 💛

Happy National Volunteer Appreciation week!

Today we wanted to highlight Harege Kebede. Harege started working with IRC-LA in 2024 as an Employment Intern. Since then, she has continued to volunteer alongside many of our teams— namely Economic Empowerment and Health Promotion— as a volunteer. Harege is an incredibly dedicated and attentive volunteer, and will step into whatever role is needed of her with grace and a positive attitude. Her supervisors are immensely grateful for all her hard work, and we know that many IRC-LA teams would not be complete without her.

Thank you so much for all that you do, Harege! 💛

Happy National Volunteer Appreciation Week!

Today we wanted to highlight some of our ESL Volunteers: Silvia Ioannou and Valeria Ladd! Silvia and Valeria have been dedicated ESL class volunteers, joining online classes weekly alongside other IRC-LA volunteers to guide our students through different levels of learning English as a second language. We are so grateful for their hard work, and could not imagine our successes without them!

Swipe to see what their supervisors had to say about them. Thank you, Silvia and Valeria, for being such amazing IRC-LA volunteers! 💛
