Paving is scheduled to begin this week. Below is the planned schedule, however it is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

UPDATED AS OF 10:15 AM MONDAY, JUNE 15TH

Thursday, June 18th - Mill and prep Marx Lane
Friday, June 19th - Pave Marx Lane — possibly prep Baltimore
Monday, June 22nd - Pave Baltimore (from 8th to 10th)

Tuesday, June 23rd - Complete Baltimore if needed — then gutters on Tomlinson between 9th/10th.

In observance of Juneteenth and West Virginia Day, city offices will be closed on Friday, June 19th and Monday, June 22, 2026. Friday garbage customers will be picked up as scheduled. Monday garbage customers will be picked up on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Congratulations to the 2026 WVSSAC Class AAA State Softball Runner-Up John Marshall High School from the City of Glen Dale!

The Monarchs finished the season with a 28-7 record, coming up just short in extra innings to Winfield in Charleston.

Masyn Inclan and Lily Dijkstra were all-tournament for the Monarchs!

Beginning next Monday, June 8th, through Friday, June 12th, AEP will be replacing the street lights along Wheeling Avenue. Lane closures will take place between the hours of 7:30 am and 3:30 pm. One lane of traffic will be maintained by flaggers and an arrow board. Please be alert and use caution in the area.

City offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day. Monday garbage customers will be picked up on Tuesday, May 26th.

We hope you will join us for our annual Memorial Day service on Monday at 11:00 am at the City Park.

At Monday evening's council meeting, Mayor Janet Scott proclaimed this Friday, May 15, 2026, Arbor Day in the City of Glen Dale. Glen Dale is proud to be recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA!

This Friday and Saturday, May 15th and 16th, is Spring Clean Up. Dumpsters will be available at the city garage from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm both days.

The City of Glen Dale is again offering the Veterans Banner program. Banners will be displayed along Wheeling Avenue, from Memorial Day through Veteran's Day annually. The banners will be 2-sided. Orders may be placed at Cockayne Farmstead. There are only a few spaces available. The deadline for ordering is Friday, June 12, 2026.

Come out to the City Park on Friday, June 5th for Music in the Park. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy music from the band Hot Wired from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. We hope to see you there!
