The longer version:
I am a life-long resident of Long Island, NY and moved to Glen Cove in 1999 where I live with my husband Peter and teenage daughter Olivia Alexis. Patrick Catholic parish in Glen Cove. A graduate of Providence College, Rhode Island. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree with a Double Major: Business Administration and Marketing. Having worked in the private sector for over 25 years with American Express and briefly with CA Technologies, I possess vast leadership and financial management experience that includes: Business Development, Global Project Management, Corporate Audit & Risk Management, Global Procurement, Relationship Management, and Organizational Effectiveness. In January 2014, I began my career in the Municipal Government sector serving in dual role as Glen Cove’s Deputy Mayor and Executive Director of Industrial Development Agency for Glen Cove, NY until Dec 31, 2017. My many accomplishments were driven by my determination and ability to leverage my impressive business management skills to deliver successful outcomes to benefit the City of Glen Cove. I am very proud of my focus on business development that resulted in tremendous smart growth and welcomed national and local new businesses and increased revenue to the city. I currently hold the position of Village Clerk and Treasurer for the Village of Plandome NY. My expansive responsibilities include complete administrative and fiscal responsibility. My deep knowledge of municipal government operations enables me to successfully manage additional roles serving as Budget Officer, Tax Assessor, and oversight of Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. I am an active member of NY Conference of Mayors and Long Island Village Clerk and Treasurer Association. My previous philanthropic endeavors include a decade serving as Executive President for a local elementary school fundraising board as well as Strategic Planning & Development Committee for a private charity. I was recognized for my commitment to a variety of nonprofit organizations such as All Saints Regional Catholic School and Cove Animal Rescue animal shelter. In addition, I was a founding member and Financial Advisory Chairperson of the Glen Cove 350th Anniversary Committee, Board Member of the Downtown Business Improvement District, Downtown Sounds Committee Member, and Glen Cove Strategic Business Advisor.
