It was a great voting session Thursday! I passed two of my bills, A4007 and A4687.

A4007 requires property sellers to disclose dams on properties to protect from unwittingly taking on the risks and costs of dam maintenance that may be on their new property.

A4687 provides with financing tools to more easily purchase new fire trucks and equipment and better protect public safety.

I also had the chance to bring our talented intern Jillian to the state house to get first hand experience on how bills become law. She even had the chance to sit at my desk and vote yes on a bill herself! - Assemblyman Dave Bailey, Jr.

One of my favorite parts of this job is watching talented young people discover a passion for . 🌟

This week, Jillian D’Auria attended her first Assembly voting session in Trenton. 🏛️ She is pursuing her graduate degree at Rowan University while working on policy and constituent services in the legislative district offices that I share with Sen. John Burzichelli and Assemblyman Dave Bailey, Jr.

I’m also incredibly proud of Aidan Donohue, a Rutgers University graduate who got his start in our district office. Aidan recently joined the staff of Assemblyman Sterley Stanley as a legislative aide, where he is already making an impact on healthcare policy. 👏

Watching these young stars rise is one of the most rewarding parts of public service. The future is in good hands. ⭐️ - Assemblywoman Heather Simmons

Congratulations to the incredible Glassboro High School Track and Field Teams.

The boys team won the Group 1 State Championship, and the boys and girls teams each had multiple individual champions.

It was an honor to join them and their families in celebrating their achievements and present the team with commendations from the State of marking their accomplishments. This is a great group of students who make our district proud. - Assemblyman Dave Bailey, Jr.

Getting to work, school, healthcare appointments, or job training shouldn't depend on whether you have access to a car.

That's why I'm excited to share information about SJ Connects, a new free regional shuttle service connecting residents throughout Gloucester, Salem, and Cumberland Counties to opportunity across .

The new routes include connections between Vineland and Camden through Glassboro, service linking the Pureland Industrial Complex and , and transportation to major healthcare destinations including Cooper University Health Care. These routes help connect residents to employers, educational institutions such as Rowan University and Rowan College of South Jersey, healthcare providers, workforce training opportunities, and NJ TRANSIT connections throughout the region.

Funded through a $5 million investment from NJ TRANSIT, this ADA-compliant pilot program will operate for 18 to 24 months and is free to riders.

In a region where many jobs, schools, and healthcare services are spread across multiple counties, transportation can be one of the biggest barriers to success. Programs like SJ Connects help make sure more South Jersey residents can access the opportunities they need to thrive.

For routes, schedules, and service details, visit SJTA.com or call 856-227-7571. - Assemblywoman Heather Simmons

This week in Trenton, I introduced a series of bills focused on one simple principle: government should solve real problems for real people.

That means fair pay for work, including ending subminimum wages for apprentices, workers with disabilities and others who deserve dignity and equal treatment.

It means patient-focused , including stronger attention to solid organ procurement and pain management for outpatient gynecological procedures.

It means helping access financing for resiliency projects tied to water, utilities and critical infrastructure.

It means modernizing public notices so residents can access important information through online publications with clear rules and safeguards.

And it means strengthening protections for domestic violence victims by giving judges greater discretion when an accused abuser has already violated a restraining order and the record shows escalation.

These bills are just beginning the legislative process in the Assembly, and I look forward to working with and listening to colleagues in the legislature, advocates and stakeholders to move them forward.

Public service should be about practical solutions, stronger protections and a government that responds to the problems people are actually facing. - Assemblywoman Heather Simmons

It was a beautiful morning for the 24th annual Arc of Salem County walk and run at Riverview Beach Park.

The Arc does fantastic work supporting adults with developmental disabilities and the walk is one of my favorite events of the year.

This year was particularly special, as it was the first time our friends at The Arc were able to use the path I helped Pennsville Township install at the park. So many more people were able to participate than in the past, which is what an event like today is all about.

Thank you to everyone who made today such a success! - Assemblyman Dave Bailey, Jr.
