Saturday's Sip, Shop & Stroll was a tremendous success, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who helped make it happen.

Events like this don't come together by accident. They require months of planning, coordination, and the dedication of countless individuals working behind the scenes. From our volunteers and organizers to our public safety teams, every person played an important role in creating a welcoming and safe experience for our community and visitors.

A special thank you goes to the Glasgow Downtown Business Association for their leadership and commitment, the more than 120 vendors who brought energy and excitement to our streets, and the many brick-and-mortar businesses that opened their doors and welcomed shoppers throughout the day.

One of my favorite parts of the event was seeing so many faces I didn't recognize. It was clear that people were traveling to Glasgow to experience what our downtown has to offer, and that's exactly the kind of momentum we want to continue building.

I'd also like to recognize the tremendous effort from our City teams, including traffic control personnel, the Glasgow Police Department, emergency services personnel who stood ready throughout the event, public works staff, and everyone else who helped ensure the day ran smoothly and safely.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, sponsored, organized, and supported this event. Saturdays like these remind us how special our community is and what can be accomplished when people come together with a shared vision for downtown Glasgow.

We look forward to seeing you at the next one!

Welcome Home Henry Royse, Glasgow Mayor!! On Thursday, we talked about the excitement of the new home for the Bounty of the Barrens Farmers' Market and the Joyce Driver Aquatic Center. While the ribbon cutting for the new facility at American Legion Park was yesterday, WCLU honored Joyce Driver as Person of the Day today! Joyce truly is Good as Gold!!

There are moments when you look across the dashboard and realize just how far our community has come.

This week on Henry’s Dashboard Dialogues, we take you inside the brand new Joyce Driver Aquatic Center at American Legion Park, a project years in the making and one that represents tremendous pride for the City of Glasgow.

Parks & Recreation Director Eddie Furlong joins me to talk about the journey from our nearly 50-year-old city pool to this incredible new facility designed for families, fun, and community for decades to come.

From the slides and splash features to the zero-depth entry, climbing wall, concessions, pickleball courts, walking trail, and more, this truly feels like a vacation destination right here at home.

Most importantly, this project honors the legacy of Joyce Driver and the generations of families who have made memories at our city pool.

I hope you’ll watch, share, and most importantly, come experience it for yourself this summer. We’ve got something special here, Glasgow. 🌊☀️

Henry's Dashboard Dialogues hits the ground for its first ever video episode! 🎙️

This past Saturday, I visited the new Bounty of the Barrens Farmer's Market at 400 West Water Street, where market manager Eleni Georgiadis and local producers are building something special for Glasgow and Barren County.

The episode covers what makes this market different: a permanent home, year-round local food, a welcoming community atmosphere, and programs that make fresh food accessible to everyone — including Senior FMNP, WIC FMNP, and a SNAP double-dollars program.

During National Telecommunicators Appreciation Week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Beverly Harbison, Director of BMECC, to talk about the incredible work of our 911 dispatch team.

These are the voices behind the scenes—calm in the chaos, steady in emergencies, and essential to keeping our community safe.

Take a few minutes to listen and help me thank the team that shows up for Glasgow 24/7.

It was a great turnout today at the Glasgow Municipal Airport ribbon cutting! I always enjoy seeing so many community members, partners, and leaders coming together to celebrate improvement to our city. Projects like this don’t just improve a facility, they strengthen our local economy, support growth, and create new opportunities for Glasgow.

This is exactly the kind of progress we’ve been working toward — thoughtful investments, strong partnerships, and a clear vision for the future of our community.

I’m grateful to everyone who played a role in bringing this project to life, and to all who showed up today in support of Glasgow’s continued momentum.

We’re just getting started.

I’m proud to see Glasgow recognized nationally once again.

Our community ranked #9 in the nation for Top Micropolitans in the 2025 Site Selection Governor’s Cup, based on the number of economic development projects.

This recognition reflects the momentum our community has built together. By supporting existing industry, attracting new investment, and working in strong partnership with organizations like the Barren County Economic Authority, we are creating opportunity and strengthening Glasgow’s future.

Thank you to the businesses, workforce, and community leaders who continue helping move Glasgow forward.

Big news for Glasgow! 🎉

Our community has ranked #9 in the nation for Top Micropolitans in the 2025 Site Selection Governor’s Cup, recognizing communities with the highest number of economic development projects.

We’re grateful for the leadership of the Barren County Economic Authority, our local businesses, and the hardworking people who continue to move Glasgow forward.

I was proud to join the Glasgow Fire Department today as they officially placed Tower 2 into service at Station 2.

The push-in ceremony is a long-standing fire service tradition dating back to the days when crews physically pushed their apparatus into the bay after unhitching the horses. It’s a meaningful reminder of the history, dedication, and teamwork that define the fire service.

Tower 2 represents an investment in public safety and in the people who protect our community every day. I’m grateful to our firefighters, retired personnel, city leaders, and community members who came out to be part of this moment.

Glasgow is stronger because of those who stand ready to serve.
