Today, we paused. We remembered. We honored.
To every member of our Peapack-Gladstone community who joined us this Memorial Day - thank you. Your presence means more than words can express. These are not just names on a monument. They are our neighbors, our family, our heroes. And because of you, they are never forgotten.

We are deeply grateful to stand alongside the men and women of the Peapack-Gladstone Police Department and the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad - brothers and sisters in service, united in remembrance. Together, we are more than departments. We are a family.

We would also like to thank and recognize CW2 Mike Gomez for his emotional and heartfelt words, Lucia Cuttone for sharing her beautiful singing voice, Mark A. Corigliano, Mayor of the Borough of Peapack & Gladstone, and Stephen DeLuca's solemn bugle rendition of Taps.

To those who made the ultimate sacrifice - we carry you with us. Always.

Words fall short. But silence honors.

This evening, at our monthly business meeting, the Peapack Gladstone Fire Department paused to do something it rarely does - turn the spotlight away from its own service, and shine it on someone who has quietly, faithfully stood beside us for years.
We recognized Tom DeFazio, owner of the Gladstone Market on Main Street, for a brand of generosity that never needed an audience.
Time and again - on short notice and on planned occasions alike - Tom and his team have shown up for this department. With food. With service. With time, they didn't have to give, but gave anyway. Whether we were gathered in celebration or responding to need, the Gladstone Market was there. Not once. Not occasionally. Consistently, and without hesitation.
That kind of partnership is rare. And it deserves to be named.
Tonight, we presented Tom with a plaque of recognition - a small token, admittedly, for a contribution that is anything but small. His response, offered simply and without fanfare after accepting the award, said everything about Tommy:
"Anything you need… anytime."
Those four words capture what Tom DeFazio has meant to this department and to this community. Not a transaction. Not an obligation. A commitment - freely given, and deeply felt.
On behalf of every member of the Peapack Gladstone Fire Department, thank you, Tommy. You have helped make this department - and this town - a finer place. That is no small thing, and we truly thank you.
Well deserved.
