Cameron students got to try something new — Tangerine Chicken with Rice and Broccoli! 🍗🍊

And judging by those smiles… I think we have a winner! 😋❤️

We love introducing our students to new foods and seeing them enjoy their school lunch!

The GHS Agriculture class had a great opportunity to visit Northern Michigan University’s Indoor Agriculture program! Our students toured the facilities, explored hydroponic and aquaponic growing systems, and learned how technology is being used to grow food year-round.

Experiences like this allow our students to see agriculture beyond the traditional farm and connect what we are learning in the classroom to college programs, careers, and real-world opportunities right here in the Upper Peninsula.

🚒 Firefighter Visit at Cameron Elementary! 📚

Our first graders at Cameron Elementary got a special visit yesterday from Officer Deneau!

He gave students an up-close look at his gear, demonstrating step-by-step how he suits up to fight fires and stay safe. To wrap up his visit, Officer Deneau spent time reading a book with the class.

Thank you, Officer Deneau, for helping keep our community safe and for taking the time to inspire our young learners! 🌟

🍎 JUNIOR HIGH LUNCH UPDATE! 🍎

A NEW LOCATION FOR OUR SECOND HOT MEAL OPTION

Dear Junior High Parents,

We are excited that so many of our Junior High students have been taking advantage of the second hot meal option that we recently added to our lunch program!

With the increase in students choosing this option, we have noticed that the À La Carte line has become much longer than we would like. In order to keep the À La Carte line moving and allow it to be used as it was originally intended, we are making a small change to where the alternative hot meal option will be served.

🌟 STARTING MONDAY, OCTOBER 12 🌟

The second hot meal option will now be offered through the MAIN HOT LUNCH LINE.

Students will now have three lunch choices:

🍽️ MAIN HOT MEAL – Served through the Main Lunch Line
🔥 ALTERNATIVE HOT MEAL OPTION – Also served through the Main Lunch Line
🥪 UNCRUSTABLE – Still available as a meal lunch choice

Options 2 and 3 are available until the daily supply is gone.

Students choosing either hot meal option or an Uncrustable will still need to select 2 more qualifying meal components, including additional items such as:

🍎 Fruit
🥦 Vegetable
🥛 Milk

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we make this adjustment. With more students taking advantage of the program, there will be an adjustment period as everyone gets used to the new process.

💬 PLEASE TALK WITH YOUR STUDENT!

Taking a few minutes to explain this change to your child before Monday will help everyone know where to go and will help us get students through the lunch lines as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Our goal is simple:
To provide students with more choices while keeping our lunch lines moving efficiently and making sure our students have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy, well-rounded meal. ❤️

🎉 Announcing our very first Gladstone Middle School Teacher/ Aide of the Month! 🎉

We are thrilled to launch our new Gladstone Middle School Teacher/Aide of the Month recognition program! Students were asked to vote for a teacher or an aide who has been kind, helpful, encouraging, patient, supportive or inspiring to them during the month of September. The students not only voted, but also included their "why" with some very sweet (anonymous) comments our teachers and aides got to enjoy reading! AND, the winner of our September Teacher/Aide of the Month is... Mr. Barron!! 💜

Congratulations and thank you, Mr. Barron for the kindness, care and encouragement you give our students every day!
