Commissioner Means and I got to spend some time in Northern Campbell County with our Fire Department, County Road and Bridge, state, and federal partners. The purpose is to pursue plans on how to better address and mitigate coal seam fires, and how to create better access on public lands to address problematic areas that are known burn and create problems. I appreciate our Deputy Fire Chief, J.R. Fox, as well as Kurt Kissack from county road and bridge for their es**rt and expertise.

I'm encouraged by the willingness of the BLM Buffalo Field Office and our state to work with Campbell County to address these issues. Additionally, we were able to stop and see the fixed wing air base at Campbell County Airport which is managed by the state. It's clear to me that we're very fortunate for the resources we have, but there's also much more work to be done to protect public and private lands.

Campbell County is improving the way emergency alerts are sent to the public. The county’s mass notification system is moving to AlertSense.

This system is used to send important public safety messages during emergencies. These may include wildfire information, evacuation notices, severe weather updates, hazardous materials incidents, and other urgent alerts.

My campaign crew! So thankful for their help. It would take me three times as long without them. When I ran and won my first legislative race 12 years ago, my daughters were 8 and 5. They would sometimes go door-to-door with me and knock on doors I couldn't get to on my own. I'm so thankful for my family. My kids and their peers is why I'm running. They are the future, and I want to help build and steward a great community for them. Together we can, because Campbell County is worth it!
