The GEDEMS (Gardner-Edgerton Democrats) are located in southwest Johnson County, Kansas. We exist to give the citizens of our cities a moderate political choice that represents most people, not just the extreme (and loud) few. GEDEMS Principles:

on good and expand opportunities for every resident of our cities. Gardner-Edgerton Democrats seek to protect the freedom of the individual, while also believing we must work together to be active contributors within our communities. Gardner-Edgerton Democrats believe that to fully express the democratic will of our citizenry we should encourage the active participation in the political process of everyone regardless of their race, color, age, physical abilities, religion, s*x, national origin, s*xual orientation, or gender identity. Gardner-Edgerton Democrats strive to operate our organization in the spirit of cooperation and compromise, believing what brings us together is far stronger than what might pull us apart, therefore the opportunity to come together to advance the common good is always present. Gardner-Edgerton Democrats are open-minded, pragmatic and supportive of intellectual curiosity and skepticism while also valuing education, learning, creativity and innovation as it leads to evidence-based public policy.
