On Monday, July 13, 2026, friends, families, businesses, and community supporters will gather at Moody Gardens Golf Course to honor the legacy of Lawrence J. Del Papa and support the mission of Lighthouse Charity Team.

Lawrence Del Papa believed in giving back to the community, and his spirit of service continues through this tournament each year. Proceeds help Lighthouse Charity Team provide volunteers, cooking equipment, and support for disaster relief efforts, first responders, veterans, nonprofits, and community-building events throughout Galveston County.

Next Friday — it's back! One of Galveston's favorite community nights out, all while supporting the next generation of local lifeguards through scholarships, training, and community programs.

The Lighthouse Charity Team was proud to be part of the Galveston Police Retirees and Friends Annual Reunion—a special day filled with fellowship, memories, and appreciation for those who have served our community.

A standout moment of the day—our president, John Bertolino, stepped up and handled the cooking, serving a delicious meal of brisket, chicken, sausage, beans, and potato salad. His dedication and commitment to supporting our first responders never go unnoticed.

Dessert was just as memorable, with several members contributing an incredible spread of banana pudding, cookies, cakes, pies, and cheesecake—a true reflection of the generosity and spirit of this group.

A very special thank you to Richard and Roberta Tyra for graciously opening their beautiful ranch for this gathering. Your hospitality made the day even more meaningful.

Today, Lighthouse Charity Team supported Artist Boat and their Wildlife Corridor Cleanup—an effort that directly protects our coastal habitats, wildlife, and the health of our Galveston community.

Through initiatives like this, Artist Boat is doing the work—removing debris, restoring natural spaces, and educating volunteers on the importance of preserving the environment we all depend on.

We provided 60 boxed lunches for the volunteers—turkey & Swiss and roast beef & cheddar sandwiches with chips and cookies—to keep this hardworking crew fueled throughout the morning.

We’re proud to stand alongside organizations that are actively making our island more vibrant and stronger for future generations.

Whether supporting first responders, responding to disasters, or partnering with fellow nonprofits, Lighthouse Charity Team is always there.

⛳🔥 Cooking for a Cause — Supporting Our Sea Aggies! 🔥⛳

Today, the Lighthouse Charity Team is proud to be serving the Former Student Sea Aggies Association Golf Tournament at Wildcat Golf Course in Houston, Texas — and we’re bringing the full kitchen with us.

We’re feeding 260+ golfers and guests, starting strong with appetizers that set the tone:
• Cornbread brisket muffins
• Stuffed shrimp
• Crawfish boudin eggrolls
• Crawfish sea kickers

Then rolling into the main spread:
• Slow-smoked brisket & juicy chicken leg quarters
• Potato salad & baked beans

This is what we do — people helping people, cooking for a cause.

We love supporting the Sea Aggies — a Galveston group built on tradition, service, and community. Proud to stand beside them and serve.
