Par for the course for this company to try to slip it in over a holiday. 🤔Need comment ideas? The Town of Glen's engineering firm, KB Engineering, composed the following response on 1/6. It includes speaking points regarding the application not being required to complete a full SWPPP prior to the application being accepted by ORES, the proposed stormwater management practices not being feasible for the project location, the lack of a need for the requested setback variances, as well as a number of other concerns.
Reiterate the points in the document by including one of the responses in your comment. ConnectGen/Repsol should be required to follow basic NYS laws and regulations! Tell ORES they should not accept the application until these items are properly addressed by the applicant!

They are an abuse of Federal tax subsidies and do not contribute significantly to the grid.

What they are good for? Single family homes. Put a small one up in your own backyard and become less dependent on the energy cartels.

These “green energy” subsidy scoundrels will continue to abuse pristine agricultural land for the profit of corporations buying their “carbon neutral” tax credits.

This does not help the local community. This does not significantly contribute to energy production. This does NOTHING but HELP MEGA-Corporations AVOID PAYING TAXES.

A sea of slats coming to a backyard near you, unless we as a community stand up to stop it.

Glen FARMLand:: keep up the good fight!! 🇺🇸

📣UPDATE📣
ConnectGEN filed a change to one of the tax parcels ( #67.-1-13.2) which will increase the number of panels sited for the Mill Point 1 project.

Per the regulations, ORES has 15 days to determine whether these changes constitute a major or minor modification to the Application.

Be sure to comment and let ORES know you are NOT in favor of increasing the footprint of this project in Glen.

Additionally, ConnectGEN anticipates filing the Supplement and Amended Application on or before July 12, 2024.

Grateful our community stood up and took action against these large scale corporate projects that are seeking subsidies in the guise of “green energy”.

Thankfully not something we will have to potentially encounter — at least as of yet!

Always stay vigilant and attend your town hall meetings to know when these projects are being ushered along behind closed doors.

The taller the turbine, the more epic the tumble.

Similar to the concept of subsidence farming, where consumers apply the same technology but in a smaller scale, specific to their use needs. Think like solar panels on a house.
