FMTK CLC Executive Director, Dillon Savory, spoke with Soreath Hok of Valley Public Radio Central Valley Daily to discuss why the Labor Council opposes the Southeast Development Area plan.

Thank you to all the community members, farmworker families, tribal leaders, students and elders who stood in solidarity after the Central Valley Empowerment Alliance received an eviction notice from the Poplar Community Services District.

Yesterday, folks shared years of stories about how the Larry Itliong resource center has built, fed, taught and held this community together. That kind of trust isn’t built overnight, and it shouldn’t be erased by a single notice.

Last week, Central Labor Council staff participated in getting the word out to delete the Starbucks app for SBWorkersUnited'sFair Contract Day of Action.

Baristas are organizing for fair pay, stable schedules, better staffing, and an end to union busting. They’ve been negotiating for years and are still pushing for a real agreement.

One of the strongest ways to support them right now is to stop buying Starbucks and delete the Starbucks app. Choosing not to purchase Starbucks and removing the app helps disrupt business as usual and shows the company that customers stand with workers. Sign the no contract no coffee pledge 👉 https://www.nocontractnocoffee.org/
