I said goodbye to superficial connections and hello to genuine relationships. Here's how you can too.
1. Embrace Empathy: Stepping into someone else's shoes isn't just about understanding them; it's about connecting on a deeper level, fostering kindness, dignity, and respect.
2. Value Connection Over Possessions: Realize that the strongest communities are built on mutual respect and understanding, not material wealth.
3. Cultivate Positive Spaces: Aim to create environments that are hopeful and optimistic, where challenges are embraced and successes celebrated.
4. Be Consistent: Remember, personal growth is a journey made up of daily efforts. Consistency in your actions and mindset leads to meaningful change.
5. Celebrate Every Success: Each achievement is a step in your learning and growth journey. Celebrate them not for ego, but as proof of your progress.
6. See Challenges as Opportunities: Every challenge is a chance to learn, grow, and become more resilient. Embrace them as part of your path to improvement.

UMÓⁿHOⁿ Nation Public Schools has a 7 acre garden where students work in the summer to grow food for the community, process some of it to sell at the school store. Growing thier own food provides a great education, and has a powerful impact on the mindsets of the entire community. I love locally grown foods, and when it’s grown by the students I admire, I happy dance with joy!

Our Uncle Ron Johnson is amazing. My brother Dale and I struggled to keep up with his pace of work as he layed new vinyl plank flooring at the ranch.

We learned so much by being around him.

At 91, he’s one of my role models for work ethic and craftmenship. It is a joy to be around someone who is a master at his craft.

People often ask me what I do; here's a great conversation I had around this question with the NPR station out of Omaha, NE.

Working with schools to inspire and engage students to dream is such a great privilege, especially with the entire community at Omaha Nation Public Schools!

Thank you, Mike Hogan, host of Live and Local, for the chat.
