Our neighbor called in a panic one day. An alligator was in the bay, she said, and her dog barked like crazy.

My husband stepped onto our porch with his binoculars and turned the focus wheel. The alligator turned out to be a tree branch adrift in the water!

Her fear melted the moment she saw clearly.

Gratitude works like that focus wheel. It brings God's view of our circumstances into sharp clarity, and clear sight changes how we think.

"I have loved you with an everlasting love"

People may disappoint you, reject you, or leave you — but your Heavenly Father never will. He has loved you since before time began, and His love has no end.

Every single day, He draws you closer to His loving side. Through every difficulty, He longs for you to lean in, to trust Him more. He is there for you, and He is not going anywhere.

God drew up His plans for you long before you could read a map.

Israel received that promise while they sat in Babylon, far from home and out of options. He gave them a future anyway. You may only see as far as the next turn, and that is enough for today. Ask Him for grace to walk this stretch, then take the step in front of you.

Everything we need has already been granted to us.

This is one of my favorite verses. His divine power has already supplied what life and godliness require, released through knowing Him more deeply.

The more we know Him, the more we realize how much has already been given AND how much more is available for the asking. As sons and daughters of the King eternal, let's keep growing in our knowledge of Him and our roles in His kingdom.
