Though it may not be considered traditional, consider these ideas for out-of-the-box reading material.

Here's your Wildcat Update for the week of June 8, 2014.

The last week of school is here and we hope you'll be able to come celebrate with us this week. Please see the schedule of Awards Ceremonies below. Thank you for your support of your student and Wilton this year.

Our Give 5, Read 5, book drive ended last week. Thanks to your generosity, we collected 1,689 books, surpassing our goal. On the last day of school, each Wilton student will take home 5 books to read this summer. Research shows that reading just five books can help prevent Summer Reading Loss.

Please take a few minutes this week to complete our annual Title I Parent Survey. Granville County Schools and Wilton Elementary are dedicated to providing a quality education for every student in our district. Your comments and concerns are very important since they influence the direction our programs will take in the future. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. This survey will remain open through Friday, June 13, 2014.

There are many ways to keep up with what's happening at Wilton. If you haven't already done so, like Wilton on Facebook or follow on Twitter to get updates on what's going on at school during the week. You can also sign up to receive text message alerts from Wilton. Standard text messaging rates will apply. Finally, be sure to check out Wilton's Pinterest page for tips on how families can support and extend learning at home.
