During National Police Week, we honor and remember the brave men and women of law enforcement especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

This week serves as a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness carried by officers across our nation every single day. Behind every badge is a commitment to protect others, often at great personal risk.

We proudly recognize the men and women of the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office and all law enforcement officers who continue to serve their communities with honor, integrity, and unwavering dedication.

Most importantly, we pause to remember the fallen heroes whose sacrifice will never be forgotten. Their service and legacy live on in the communities they protected and in the hearts of those who continue the mission.

Please keep all law enforcement officers and the families of the fallen in your thoughts and prayers this Police Week. 🖤💙🖤

Today marks the first day of a well-earned new chapter for Deputy Curtis Hargett — retirement.

After 20 years of dedicated service to the communities of Warren and Simpson County, Curtis is officially hanging up the uniform. Over the years, he has served with commitment, integrity, and a steady presence that both his fellow deputies and the community could always count on.

Law enforcement isn’t just a job — it’s a calling — and Curtis answered that call day in and day out. His impact will be felt for years to come, and his service will not be forgotten.

While we’re grateful for the time he gave to this office and our community, we’re even more excited for him as he begins this next chapter.

Congratulations, Curtis, on your retirement. You’ve more than earned it. Enjoy every minute — you will always be part of the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office family.

‼️Scammers are in full force right now. Here is ANOTHER you need to be aware of:

🚨 SCAM ALERT – FAKE TRAFFIC VIOLATION TEXTS 🚨

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a new text message scam claiming to be from the Kentucky State Police Citation Enforcement Unit.

The message states you have an “unpaid traffic violation” and threatens:
• Vehicle impoundment
• License suspension
• Arrest warrant

It then urges you to click a link and pay immediately.

⚠️ THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK.

Red flags to watch for:
• Demands for payment within a short time (ex: 12 hours)
• Threats of arrest or immediate penalties
• Suspicious or non-government website links
• Text messages claiming to be from law enforcement

Know this:
• Law enforcement agencies do NOT send texts demanding immediate payment
• Official citations are handled through the court system—not random links
• Kentucky State Police will not threaten arrest via text message

What you should do:
• Do NOT click the link
• Do NOT provide any personal or financial information
• Delete the message
• Report the scam to your local law enforcement agency

Please share this post to help protect others in our community.
