Vote for Cheryl DuBois for Union Township Fiscal Officer for the election this coming Tuesday, Nov. 5th. I would greatly appreciate your vote!
I’m a 1985 Adena High School graduate. I married Jeff DuBois in 1986, then we moved to Virginia while Jeff served in the military. We returned home and had our daughter, Christi, in 1989. I’m now a grandmother to 3 little ones that keep me laughing and enjoying life on my days off.
I’m the daughter of the late Gene Smalley and Norma Jean Smalley. My dad was one of the main supporters of the township as a trustee for many years. He volunteered his time, expertise of dirt and equipment and helped create the Union Township Fire Dept and Squad with several of his close friends many years ago. Both of my parents made our township a better place by offering their time and commitment and making many friends and wonderful memories along the way. Those who knew “Gene and Jeannie” back then knew what a strong work ethic meant to our family. As their only child, I have tried to uphold these qualities in my life as well. I have consistently worked 60 hours per week for nearly 20 years without a single call off.
I have been employed by Kohl’s department store since 2002 and have spent majority of those years as a department manager. I’m sometimes responsible for hundreds of thousands of dollars on a daily basis and all of the employees in the store on a given day. I can multitask work, customer care and delegation to others. I am well respected by my peers, bosses and other employees and known to be hard working and extremely fair. Outside of my hours at Kohl’s, I also lead a group of other employee volunteers to provide countless hours for non profit organizations in our community.
This position would allow me to serve our township just as my father did. This is a great time for change and I would feel privileged to be a part of the team. I am more than willing to put in the work, and be responsible for the money that the township holds for equipment, road maintenance, employees and the fire department to name a few roles. I can promise that if you give me your vote on Tuesday, I won’t disappoint if given the chance to prove my dedication to our community.
