Frackville Borough, FBPA and Famous Reading Outdoors Announce Pilot ORV Access Weekend May 30–31, 2026
Frackville, PA — Frackville Borough and Frackville Business and Professional Association (FBPA) is pleased to announce that the official pilot weekend for the Borough’s Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) street access initiative will take place May 30–31, 2026.
This pilot event follows Borough Council’s approval of an ordinance permitting ORVs on designated borough streets under defined safety, licensing, and operational requirements. The initiative is designed to create a controlled, safe connection from the Famous Reading Outdoors (FRO) trail system to Frackville’s business district — strengthening tourism, supporting local commerce, and enhancing the region’s outdoor recreation footprint.
Pilot Weekend Overview – May 30–31, 2026
During the pilot weekend:
• Licensed and properly permitted ORV operators will be permitted on designated borough streets in accordance with the adopted ordinance.
• A 25 mph maximum speed limit and all safety requirements will be strictly enforced.
• Riders must possess a valid driver’s license, insurance, registration, and a valid FRO permit.
• Snowmobiles remain excluded.
The pilot event will allow Borough officials, law enforcement, and FBPA representatives to evaluate logistics, traffic flow, compliance, and economic impact before full implementation.
Downtown Business Engagement: Punch Card Program
To encourage riders and visitors to support local establishments, FBPA will implement a Punch Card Program during the May 30–31 weekend.
• Participating businesses will issue punches to customers who visit their establishments.
• Completed punch cards may be turned in at the conclusion of the event.
• Participants who submit completed cards will be eligible for prizes.
This initiative is designed to drive measurable foot traffic to local retailers, restaurants, and service providers while creating a fun, interactive experience for visitors.

All participating businesses are members of FBPA.
