Conly For Common Sense

Conly For Common Sense Fort Worth has been my home for 37 years. I’ve raised a family here, built a career here, and watched our city grow.

I’m running for City Council in District 6 to give back and to make sure our neighborhoods, families, and taxpayers come first.

05/23/2026

One of the most encouraging things I've seen lately is that residents from outside District 6 have been reaching out to me for help with city issues.

While I may not represent their district, I'm always happy to listen, answer questions, and help point people in the right direction whenever I can.

To me, public service isn't about drawing lines on a map. It's about helping neighbors solve problems and making sure residents feel heard.

Whether you live in District 6 or elsewhere in Fort Worth, if I can help connect you with the right department, provide information, or help navigate City Hall, I'll do my best to assist.

Fort Worth works best when we work together.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out and placed their trust in me. I don't take that responsibility lightly.

🚨 Fort Worth Residents Just Approved $845 MILLION in Bonds — And Now City Hall Wants ANOTHER Monthly Fee? 🚨

Fort Worth families just approved $845 million in bond funding.

Now, instead of tightening spending and prioritizing what we already funded, the City is discussing adding a new $3 per month fee on single-family homes for road maintenance.

Let me be clear:

❌ I oppose this new fee.

Fort Worth homeowners are already overwhelmed with rising property taxes, inflation, and cost-of-living increases. Adding yet another monthly charge—no matter how small it sounds—sets a dangerous precedent.

City Hall needs to start doing what families do every day:
✅ Live within a budget
✅ Prioritize necessities
✅ Cut waste
✅ Spend responsibly

If the City needs road maintenance funding, we should start by looking at how we are spending the money we already have—not reaching into residents’ pockets again.

Fort Worth doesn’t have a revenue problem. It has a priorities problem.

I will always stand with taxpayers and fight against new fees and hidden tax increases.

DISTRICT 6 SAID NO — AND I STOOD WITH YOU.

While the city-wide bond package passed, voters right here in Fort Worth District 6 sent a much clearer message:

District 6 rejected the big spending agenda.

Here are just a few examples:

📍 Precinct 1006
➡️ 88% voted NO on the affordable housing bond (Prop D)
➡️ 85% voted NO on Parks (Prop 😎 and Libraries (Prop C)

📍 Precinct 1005
➡️ 76% voted NO on Prop D
➡️ 63% voted NO on Libraries

📍 Precinct 1008
➡️ Strong majorities voted NO on Parks, Libraries, and Housing spending

That’s not “extreme.”
That’s common sense.

District 6 residents are tired of more debt, higher taxes, and spending plans that don’t reflect our priorities.

I was crystal clear from the beginning: I opposed the entire bond package.
I spoke at council meetings, knocked doors, and told voters exactly where I stood.

Some candidates stayed quiet — or even supported these propositions — while District 6 was saying NO loud and clear.

This is what leadership looks like:
Listening to the people, not City Hall insiders.

If you want a councilmember who will fight for:
✅ Lower taxes
✅ Fiscal responsibility
✅ Transparency
✅ Putting District 6 families first

Then I’m asking for your support.

🚨 I PUT IT IN WRITING — AND I SIGNED MY NAME TO IT. 🚨

Fort Worth families are feeling the pressure right now. Groceries cost more. Gas costs more. Property taxes keep climbing. And too many people feel like City Hall isn’t listening.

That’s why I signed a written pledge to the voters of Fort Worth City Council District 6:

✅ I will NOT vote to raise taxes.
✅ I will NOT vote to raise fees.

And I’m holding myself accountable in a way politicians rarely do:

📌 If I break this pledge, I will not seek reelection.

Fort Worth deserves leaders who mean what they say and are willing to be held accountable.

And there’s more.

Fort Worth recently increased City Council pay. I’ve made another promise:

❤️ If elected, I will donate the “raise portion” of that new salary to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County.

Because public service should be about service—not personal gain.

I’m running to bring accountability, transparency, and common sense back to City Hall.

If you want a Councilman who will fight for taxpayers, protect working families, and put Fort Worth first…

👉 I’d be honored to earn your vote.

**I believe leadership starts with showing up, being transparent, and standing firmly for the people you hope to represent.

On election day, I was at the polling location because I think it’s important to be present and accessible to the community. Throughout the bond discussion, I made my position clear so residents knew exactly where I stood.

I’ve also made a public commitment: I will not vote to raise taxes or fees. If I ever do, I will not seek reelection. Accountability matters, and I intend to hold myself to that standard.

In addition, I have pledged to donate the salary‑increase portion of the recent council pay adjustment to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County. Public service should come with personal responsibility, and I want my actions to reflect that.

My focus is simple — to serve District 6 with honesty, accessibility, and common‑sense stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shared concerns, and supported this effort. I’m listening, and I’m committed to earning your trust every day.**

I’m grateful that the Fort Worth Star-Telegram published my Letter to the Editor on April 12.

Fort Worth is at a turning point. With rising costs, growing debt, and increasing pressure on homeowners, we need leaders who will speak plainly about the numbers and fight for fiscal responsibility.

I’ll continue pushing for:
✅ lower property taxes
✅ responsible budgeting
✅ transparency and accountability
✅ a government that serves citizens—not itself

Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort so far. The momentum is real, and I’m just getting started.

Last night I spoke at the Fort Worth City Council meeting about something that’s hitting every household right now: the rising cost of living — especially property taxes.
Fort Worth families are being squeezed from every direction. Groceries cost more, insurance costs more, rent costs more… and on top of all that, property taxes keep climbing.
For many homeowners, their home value may look good on paper, but the reality is simple:
higher appraisals mean higher tax bills, and too many people are being priced out of the neighborhoods they worked their whole lives to live in.
I believe Fort Worth can grow and invest in infrastructure without constantly pushing the burden onto taxpayers. That means asking hard questions, demanding transparency, and making sure every dollar is spent wisely before we ask citizens for more.
I’m sharing my full speech here for anyone who couldn’t attend.

It's and we honor the courage, sacrifice and unwavering dedication of the men and women who serve and protect our communities each and every day. And perhaps most importantly, we honor the officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. Heroes whose service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Their legacy lives on in the work we continue to do and in the communities they helped protect.

I want to share an update on a public records request I recently filed with the City of Fort Worth.

Under the Texas Public Information Act, I requested a complete list of all consultant studies funded through Fort Worth’s Economic Development Initiatives Fund from 2015 to present, including contracts, vendor names, deliverables, and documentation showing whether recommendations were adopted.

The City’s response was that no responsive documents exist.

To be clear: I’m not accusing anyone of wrongdoing. But I am saying this raises serious questions.

Because if a City fund has existed for more than a decade, taxpayers deserve to know:

* Was it used?
* If so, who was paid?
* What work was performed?
* Where are the reports and deliverables?
* Where are the contracts and receipts?

If the records exist in another department, then the public should be told exactly where those records are maintained and why they weren’t produced.

And if the records truly do not exist, that is a major transparency issue by itself.

Fort Worth has recently received awards for transparency — and I hope we can live up to that reputation, not just advertise it.

This is exactly why I’m running.
As your next City Council member, I will push for a city government where public information is easy to access, spending is clearly tracked, and taxpayers are treated with respect.

I will be submitting follow-up requests to Finance and Purchasing so we can get a clear answer.

Fort Worth residents deserve clarity, not confusion.

Tonight I’ll be speaking at the Fort Worth City Council meeting to continue raising concerns about city spending, long-term debt, and the growing financial pressure being placed on taxpayers.

Even though the bond package and Proposition G have passed, my focus remains the same: accountability, transparency, and responsible budgeting.

Fort Worth families deserve leaders who will ask hard questions and demand clear answers — especially when decisions made today will affect our city for decades.

If you care about property taxes, city debt, and how your money is being spent, I encourage you to attend or watch.
