LifeVac is a nonpowered, NON-INVASIVE, portable airway clearance device developed to bring the safest, simplest method to assist a choking victim. The vision of LifeVac came from a story that Arthur Lih, Founder and CEO of LifeVac heard of a woman devastated in a hospital following the death of her young son. The reason for his death was that a grape had gotten lodged in his windpipe and the Heimlich maneuver failed. Once he heard the story, he set out to invent an apparatus that could clear an airway of a choking victim and save lives. LifeVac is on a mission to bring this device to the public. We are located in the USA (New York),Europe (the UK), Canada, Australia, and Taiwan We strive to have LifeVac in homes, schools, disability organizations, restaurants, nursing homes, airplanes, etc. Our goal is to save as many lives as possible throughout the world.

Over the past two days, we saved 8 more lives in choking emergencies! Today, we share the incredible story of Save #6847, where a 56-year-old man with an acquired brain injury choked on a piece of pineapple, causing a complete airway blockage.
The man was eating a meal at his group home under staff supervision when he suddenly began turning blue, his eyes filled with tears, and he was unable to make a sound. "Staff got him out of his wheelchair to perform back blows (unsuccessful), then the Heimlich maneuver (also unsuccessful), before getting him onto the ground in order to use the LifeVac. At this point, 911 had been called, and EMS was en route. The LifeVac was used successfully to dislodge the pineapple."

We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated caregivers who acted quickly during this terrifying emergency.

These two incredible doctors helped save a local diner from choking at Jonathan’s Restaurant using LifeVac.

It was a privilege to hear their lifesaving story firsthand and show them where we celebrate the lives saved and the heroes who stepped in when seconds mattered.

Yesterday Arthur Lih and Laura Bonelli represented Team LifeVac at the American Red Cross Long Island Heroes Celebration at the Heritage Club at Bethpage, where the Red Cross honored heroic people and caring leaders from our community. Thank you for having us!

Today, we're sharing details about Save #6732! A 3-year-old boy choked on a peanut butter-stuffed pretzel, completely blocking his airway. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its first attempt! The child's mother described the incident as follows: Thankfully, my aunt quickly realized he was choking (turning red, no noise, grabbing at his face). I immediately started protocols for choking - I am an adult and pediatric hospice RN. After one round of unsuccessful attempts at traditional protocols, I laid him down, tilted his chin up, and used the LifeVac. The pretzel immediately was visible in the back of his mouth and I was able to clear the pretzel and ball of peanut butter.
