Today I got to marry Presley and Demitre on a beautiful piece of land in Ennis, surrounded by their family and friends. And let me tell you, this bride looked like she stepped straight out of a magazine and had the prettiest smile! Their story made the day even better. They’ve been together since Presley was 13 and Demitre was 15, lived just a block away from each other, and their older brothers were friends. They started dating in middle school and have literally grown up together. Eleven years later they have two beautiful babies, have built a life together, and today, on their 11-year anniversary as a couple, they became Mr. and Mrs. Coronado. I love getting to be there for stories like this. Congratulations Presley and Demitre!

Over 800 ceremonies (yes you read that right) and counting!

Michelle with Make It All Legal here. I’m a wedding officiant serving the DFW area and all over North Texas. I’ve now officiated over 800 ceremonies and I absolutely love what I do.

I perform all kinds of ceremonies including religious, non religious, same s*x, interfaith, handfasting, broom jumping, vow renewals, elopements, themed ceremonies, lasso ceremonies, unity candle and sand ceremonies, and simple license signings.

I’m also registered to perform ceremonies at Texas correctional facilities and immigration detention facilities.

I’m a Texas Notary Public as well, so if you have a prenuptial agreement that requires notarization, I can take care of the notarization for you. I don’t prepare prenups or give legal advice regarding them.

Handfasting is one of my favorite ceremonies to officiate. There’s something beautiful about literally “tying the knot” while making promises to the person you love. And yes—you can incorporate handfasting into a legally recognized wedding ceremony.

This sweet  couple came to my home needing an affidavit of common-law marriage for insurance purposes this afternoon and even though it’s not a “licensed” marriage , I treat them just the same. They’ve declared themselves married and it’s recognized in Texas so I created the affidavit, notarized and signed it, and sent them on their merry way. Big congratulations to Jocelyn and Cristian!

Another beautiful elopement today at my home and this special couple chose to include a Jumping the Broom ceremony, a tradition with deep roots in African American history. During slavery, many couples were not legally allowed to marry, so jumping the broom became a powerful symbol of love, commitment, and the beginning of a new life together.
Today, it remains a meaningful way to honor heritage, family, and the journey ahead.
Congratulations to Lexie and Vincent as they literally and symbolically “swept away” the past and stepped into their future together.
