I’m going to do something a little unusual: I want to thank the person who ran against my opponent before me.
Kyle Thele.
People often thank me for running against Chris Judy. And I appreciate that. But I want to be clear: I am not the first person to stand up and say that Southwest Fort Wayne and Whitley County deserve better.
Kyle ran a strong campaign last cycle. He knocked doors, talked to voters, put himself out there, and helped move the needle in this district.
Before I announced my campaign, I called Kyle.
I wanted to hear from someone who had already taken on this fight. And I wanted to tell him directly that I believed he would have represented this community with integrity.
I’m running a different campaign than Kyle did. We have our own strategy and our own message.
I don’t see this campaign as starting from scratch.
We are building on the work of everyone who came before us.
That’s how change happens. It can take years of consistent effort. Each cycle, more people get involved. More doors get knocked. More voters get registered. And then, we win.
And when we win, we’re going to bring a different vision for Indiana.
We’re going to fight for Legal W**d. Living wages. Stronger workers’ rights. An Indiana that says no to unchecked data center expansion. And an end to Flock’s mass surveillance of our communities.
Talk to your neighbors. Register people to vote.
Knock doors. Have the uncomfortable conversations.
And then, in November, let’s finish what people before us have started.
Thank you, Kyle, for helping move our state forward.
Now it’s our turn.
Let’s win this thing on November 3rd!
