For decades, the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades has been a proud partner in LARC's mission, supporting our programs, individuals, and families every single day. Now it's our turn to give back!
We're rallying through fun on-campus fundraisers like Dough for Donuts, the Classroom Small Change Challenge, Angela's Pop-Up Boutique, and Muffin Mania, all in support of United Way's 'One Community. A Million Reasons to Give' campaign.
Will you join us and be one in a million? Small change. Big impact.

Today, we hosted a press conference to share an important update on our annual campaign and the growing need across the community.

We were proud to be joined by the support of community leaders, donors, partner agencies and board members who continue stepping up in meaningful ways to help ensure critical resources remain available to those who need them most.

There are a million reasons to give – and thousands of lives are depending on it. Will you be one in a million to help us close the gap?

We are proud to share that LARC Executive Director Angela Katz has been recognized as a 2026 Women of Distinction honoree.

This year's theme, "One Drop of Kindness Can Flood the World," reflects not only Angela's leadership, but the spirit upon which LARC was founded more than 70 years ago. Angela's dedication to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is rooted in a simple belief: every person deserves the opportunity to learn, work, belong, and thrive. Through her advocacy and commitment to inclusion, she helps create opportunities that change lives.

At LARC, we witness every day how one act of kindness can build confidence, create opportunity, foster independence, and change the trajectory of a life.

Congratulations to Angela and to all of the nominees on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for helping make our community a kinder and more inclusive place for all.
