๐ŸŽ‰ CONGRATULATIONS, MARITZA! ๐ŸŽ‰

Please help us congratulate Maritza on successfully completing her final testing today and earning full release as a solo 911 Dispatcher with the Morgan County Communications Center.

Becoming a fully released dispatcher is a major professional milestone. It takes dedication, focus, patience, and countless hours of hands-on training to develop the skills needed to serve in emergency communications.

Throughout her training, Maritza worked through the many responsibilities that come with the role, including:

๐Ÿ“ž Emergency Call Processing โ€“ gathering critical information, staying calm under pressure, and helping ensure the right response is started as quickly as possible.

๐Ÿ“ก Radio Operations & Resource Coordination โ€“ coordinating law enforcement, fire, and EMS resources while helping protect responder and community safety.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Geography & Mapping โ€“ building knowledge of Morgan Countyโ€™s communities, highways, rural areas, and response locations.

๐Ÿ’ป Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) โ€“ managing real-time incidents while balancing phone calls, radio traffic, responder updates, and rapidly changing situations.

Maritzaโ€™s training required adaptability, attention to detail, resilience, and the ability to perform in a high-stress environment. From the beginning of training through her final test today, she demonstrated a strong commitment to learning the profession and serving Morgan County.

We are proud of Maritza for reaching this achievement and becoming fully released as a solo dispatcher. Her hard work has paid off, and we are excited to see her continue to grow in this important role.

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations, Maritza! ๐Ÿ‘

Your dedication makes a difference, and we are grateful to have you as part of the Morgan County Communications Center.

On Friday, May 15, SMH West crews are expected to reopen the eastbound on-ramp at Exit 80 and I-76, restoring northbound and southbound travel along State Highway 52.

At the request of CDOT, additional construction will begin the week of May 18. This will allow the City of Fort Morgan Water Department to upgrade existing water infrastructure along Riverview Avenue between Main Street and Ensign Avenue.

As a result, there will be temporary water outages in the area, starting at 12:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, and extending into the early morning hours.

Combining the two projects will allow the City of Fort Morgan to avoid future costs and traffic impacts to local businesses by incorporating the upcoming water main construction plans with the current project for the large 60-inch storm sewer drainage pipe.

Crews are expected to complete work along Riverview Avenue and transition to Main Street after Memorial Day, marking the final phase of construction, which is expected to continue into early July.

Construction schedules and road closures are subject to change.
