π€ We deserve another Public Hearing before the final vote on the budget!
ππ¨βπ Flint Hill Fire Department is not getting the manpower or equipment needed and was in the original budget produced after 18 months of work.
ποΈβ°& πΈ Wasted staffs time and our taxpayers money in District 7!
The 3rd reading of the budget is on Mondayβs night agenda. I spoke in York County Council chambers before 1st reading that we will probably need another public hearing on the budget because of the unannounced and drastic amendmentsοΏΌ council presented during first reading. Before second reading, staff had done the work to get the budget adjusted and balanced. Council never ask staff to present what thy worked two weeks before second reading. Staff even stopped the meeting and waved the paper in the air with all the work they have preformed. With the amendments made during first reading and second reading, I know we will need another public hearing before the budget can be passed. I could go on and on about how council has wasted staff time in our taxpayer dollars with this budget process. We will not have a CFO or budget director council hired an attorney to be a lobbyist in Columbia for $277,000 a year makes no sense. οΏΌCouncil deferred the purchase of the mobile command unit. If we donβt buy this unit soon, itβs gonna cost us an extra $50-$75,000 based off the new EPA regulations coming with the size of chassis it sits on. How would you like if your family member worked at Flint Hill fire department and had to run a call to the SilFab plant and not have a mobile command unit available if needed?οΏΌοΏΌ
