Hi, my name is James T. I’m the Fort Mill Town Council representative for Ward 1. My wife and I love this area’s natural beauty, open spaces, quality of life and the quality of education it affords for my daughter. We have lived in Fort Mill for five years, and have been fortunate enough to have a front row seat, watching this area grow and flourish with my work in commercial real estate. Each and
every day, I meet people who comment on what a hidden gem this area is and how much they look forward to building their lives here. I can say with absolute confidence that this area has great things ahead of it; with new businesses and families arriving daily. I have a clear vision, for a healthy community, based on three foundations:
1) Attract strong businesses and quality jobs; we need to focus on creating a business environment that is friendly and seamless as possible in order to sustain growth over a long period of time.
2) Support healthy communities and neighborhoods; our diverse and welcoming neighborhoods are what make this area great.
3) Ensure a viable infrastructure; as stewards of the tax payer’s money, we must maximize the return-on-investment of every dollar we put into our city’s infrastructure. I believe the role of Town Council and Area Government is to ensure that businesses have the resources they need for job growth; that neighborhoods and communities reflect a desirable place to live, and that the infrastructure is in place to support the quality of life we have come to expect in our area. I’m excited about the future of Fort Mill. With quality jobs, strong neighborhoods and responsible leadership Fort Mill will continue on its path to be the community where people come to live, work and play. Together, we can make it happen!
