Happy 251st birthday to the U.S. Army! 🎂

On Friday, June 12, DINFOS marked the milestone as staff, faculty, students and guests came together to celebrate the Army’s legacy of service. Public Affairs and Communication Strategy Directorate Director and DINFOS Army Element Commander Lt. Col. Angel Jackson led the ceremony alongside acting Command Sgt. Maj. 1st Sgt. Gerald Woods. We were honored to host retired Command Sgt. Maj. Ronald Shaw Jr. as our guest speaker and thank him for sharing the day with us.

The ceremony included a traditional cake-cutting. The first slice went to the oldest Soldier present, Staff Sgt. Michael Christensen, who then passed a piece to the youngest Soldier, Pvt. Brandon Cadore, representing the transfer of Army tradition, knowledge and experience from one generation to the next.

251 years of courage, sacrifice and service! Here’s to the Soldiers who make our Army what it is. 💚
