NYS Stores that sell beverages in bottles and cans must accept them for a 5-cent refund provided the bottle or can has the identifying 5cent returnable mark on the top or label.

🌍 Did you know that coffee capsule packaging creates about 966 million pounds of waste every year? That’s the same as tossing out 150,000 Hummer H2s annually! 🚗💨

While many coffee pods are marketed as recyclable, the reality is they’re often too small for most recycling facilities to handle. 😔

But it doesn’t stop there—think about switching to sustainable options like reusable coffee capsules, pods, or other brewing methods. My personal favorite? French press coffee! ☕️ Not only does it taste amazing, but I can compost the grounds or use them directly in my garden. 🌿

What is your favorite item to reuse?

I'll tell you mine-- cardboard. I like to reuse boxes as shipping boxes to send care packages to friends and family. I've even been known to make a costume or two or ten out of carboard.
