Educational and Developmental Intervention Services - Fort Bragg

Educational and Developmental Intervention Services - Fort Bragg Children can be referred to EDIS by military or civilian agencies, physicians or other professionals as well as family members.

Fort Bragg Educational & Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS) is committed to providing support and assistance to families in providing their child(ren) opportunities for optimal development. EDIS provides developmental intervention services to eligible infants and toddlers using a transdisciplinary approach that focuses on parent involvement and partnership. Services may include early child

hood special education, speech and language services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing education, and service coordination to help ensure smooth service delivery and transitions. Once a referral has been received, the family will be contacted so that an evaluation can take place to determine if the child shows developmental delays that are significant enough to warrant intervention and enrollment into the program. Services are determined by the team, which includes the parent, and can be provided in the family's home or in the childcare setting. Although only children living on the military installation can receive intervention services through EDIS, the team will ensure that children living off post are able to access community early intervention services.
