Monday mornings here often start with the hum of the dryer. I love this sign in our laundry room because it is so true: we are often sorting out life one load at a time.

Every fresh towel and clean sheet is a way of telling our guests that they are seen and cared for.

We know that when a family is in the middle of a medical crisis, the small things like a hot shower and a soft towel can provide a massive sense of relief.

We are grateful to be the place where caregivers can hit "reset" before heading back to the hospital.

Sending strength to everyone tackling their own "mountain of laundry" or "mountain of life" today.

You are doing a great job. 🤗

Before a caregiver ever walks through the door, there’s a lot that happens quietly.

A room is checked.
Supplies are restocked.
The house is made ready in small, ordinary ways.

None of it is dramatic, but all of it matters. When someone arrives tired and uncertain, the goal is for the space to feel settled and calm, as if it has been waiting for them.

I’m thankful for the many hands and hearts that help keep this place steady day after day. That kind of care doesn’t always get noticed, but it’s felt.

Caregiving takes a lot out of people.

It takes patience.
It takes endurance.
It takes showing up even when you are tired and unsure what comes next.

What we offer here is not complicated. It is a place to pause. A place to rest. A place to take a breath before doing it all again the next day.

That small bit of support can make a big difference when someone is carrying more than they ever expected.

I am thankful for everyone who believes caregivers deserve care too.

One thing this work has shown me is how much care often happens quietly.

Caregivers don’t always talk about what they’re carrying. They focus on the next appointment, the next update, the next long day ahead. What they need most is not attention, but steadiness.

That’s where community steps in.

A place to rest.
A calm space.
The reassurance that someone thought ahead for them.

Those things exist because people choose to care in practical, consistent ways. I’m always grateful for a community that understands how much those small supports matter.

There are many people behind the scenes who help keep this place steady.

Some give their time.
Some give resources.
Some simply share the mission with others.

All of it matters.

Each act of support helps create a space where caregivers can rest and return to what matters most with a little more strength. I’m deeply thankful for everyone who plays a part, whether seen or unseen.

Dear Lord,

As a new week begins, we pause to give thanks for the people who notice when others are carrying more than they can see.

We pray for caregivers who are starting another week beside hospital beds, in waiting rooms, and on long roads. Give them strength for today and peace for the moments in between.

We also thank You for the community that makes rest possible. For those who give, pray, encourage, and quietly support this work in ways that matter deeply.

Bless each person reading this with calm, clarity, and a sense of purpose as they move through the days ahead.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As the week comes to a close, I often think about the caregivers who passed through this place recently. The long days they spent at the hospital. The quiet moments they finally had to rest. The strength it takes to keep showing up when the road ahead is still uncertain.

What stays with me most is how much it matters to have a place that feels steady when everything else feels fragile. A calm space can make the difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling able to face another day.

As this week ends, I’m grateful for a community that helps make that kind of rest possible.

Some of the heaviest things people carry are the ones they never say out loud.

I see it often in caregivers, but it’s something many people know well. Doing what needs to be done. Holding things together. Showing up, even when energy is low and worry is high.

What makes a difference is when someone notices. When a community pays attention and steps in with care that feels steady instead of loud.

That kind of presence changes the tone of a hard season. It gives caregivers a place to rest for a moment and gather themselves before returning to what matters most.

I’m grateful for everyone who chooses that quiet kind of compassion.

This work is made up of a lot of ordinary moments.

Checking in on a room.
Making sure things are ready.
Keeping the space calm and welcoming.

None of it feels remarkable on its own, but together it creates something important. A place that feels steady when life feels anything but.

I’m grateful for the people who help keep these everyday details in place so caregivers can focus on the people they love.

Some days at Daisy’s Place are filled with relief and gratitude.

We are thankful 🙏🏽for the moments when a loved one is discharged, when families get to pack up and head home together, and when hope feels close.

But it does not always go that way.

Today, we are greiving with a family at Daisy's Place in the loss of someone deeply loved. There are no right words for moments like this. Only care. Only presence. Only the quiet acknowledgment that loss is real and heavy.

We ask that you keep this family in your thoughts as they walk through these tender days. And we also hold space for every caregiver facing uncertainty, fear, or sorrow tonight.

This work reminds us how fragile life can be and how much compassion matters, especially when outcomes are not what we hoped for.

Thank you for being part of a community that cares, even in the hard moments.

I have learned something over the years.

Most of the work that truly matters is quiet.
It happens without applause.
It shows up early, stays late, and does not ask to be noticed.

Caregivers live this every day.
They sit through long hours.
They make decisions while tired.
They love deeply even when it costs them something.

Daisy’s Place is a place that simply says, “You can rest here.”

I am grateful for the people who believe in that kind of care.
The ones who see value in showing up, even when no one is watching.

This mission continues because of you.
