Remember Aaron?! 💙

Not long ago, Aaron was experiencing homelessness. After months of hard work alongside our staff, he moved into a home of his own.

Today, Aaron is fully settled into his new home and is embracing this new chapter. Music and playing the guitar is bringing him a lot of joy these days. ✨🎸🥰

Stories like Aaron's remind us that stable housing creates the foundation for people to thrive. We're so proud of how far he's come!

Our annual salsa garden at the shelter has been planted! 🍅😊🫑

Each year, children at the shelter spend the summer planting, tending to, and eventually harvesting tomatoes, peppers, and onions. With help from staff and volunteers, they make a big batch of salsa and have a salsa party to celebrate their hard work!

Special thanks to the Junior League of Flint for sponsoring the garden this year and providing the kids with the supplies they need.

We wanted to share a volunteer highlight! 🤩

Tracy (left) is the volunteer leader of our shelter's Girl Scout troop. She also volunteered at our Coldest Night of the Year walk and for children's reading classes through the Flint and Genesee Literacy Network.

Kelly (right) volunteered at our warming center this year and continues to volunteer weekly for our Girl Scout troop!

It's people like them who help the shelter activities run smoothly. Thank you, Tracy and Kelly!!!

This winter, we opened the basement of our shelter as a warming center for women and children seeking refuge from the cold.

From December 1st to April 20th, we welcomed 201 adults and 58 children in our warming center—providing a combined 4,931 nights of warmth, safety, and support.

We're grateful to have met a critical need in our community and deeply thankful for our dedicated staff, whose hard work and compassion made this possible for close to 5 months!

With Mother's Day coming up, we're honoring moms like Ciara. 💐

After losing her job and both parents within months, Ciara faced the unimaginable—all while caring for her daughter with cerebral palsy.

She came to our shelter seeking support. With help from our staff, she began rebuilding her life.

Now, she's preparing to move into a home of her own with her daughter.💖

We're getting excited and prepared for fun children's programming this summer! ☀️💖

Johnny, our Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, recently installed a shiny new shed at the shelter! This will be used to store outdoor games, supplies, and everything the kids need to build and tend to their annual salsa garden.

Aaron is all smiles in his new apartment!! 🏠💙🥳

After experiencing chronic homelessness, Aaron connected with our PATH Street Outreach team in October and began turning his life around.

Through his dedication and hard work (alongside the support of our staff!), he was able to access essential services and secure the vital documents needed for housing. Today, he officially has a place to call his own.

Congratulations, Aaron! ⭐
