Greater Flint Democratic Socialists of America

We are a political and activist organization, not a party, organizing for the poor and working class. The Bricks & Roses Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America is part of the country’s largest socialist organization. We seek to build progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly democratic socialist presence in Mid Michigan, including the Flint-metro area and the su

rrounding rural communities, in coalition with socialists across the state. We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, progressive economic planning, equitable distribution of wealth, feminism, racial and gender equality, environmentalism, and non-oppressive foreign relationships. Our chapter's main goal is to organize the youth, working class, and the underprivileged poor in our community to reclaim the wealth in this county that has been positioned to flow to the top. We achieve this through direct action, civil disobedience, informative training sessions, social hours, book discussions, and community events. We are many, they are few; try socialism.
