I am incredibly proud and humbled to have the endorsement of Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.

This one means a lot to me. Not only is Mr. Leyton our elected Prosecutor—he is also my boss. He has seen my work firsthand on both sides of the courtroom, as a defense attorney and now as an Assistant Prosecutor. The fact that he has faith in me, my experience, and my ability to serve as Judge means more than I can say.

Mr. Leyton appointed me as an Assistant Prosecutor and entrusted me to handle some of the most difficult and serious cases that come through our office. That work has allowed me to advocate for victims and families, work closely with law enforcement, and serve the people of Genesee County every day. It has made me a better attorney and strengthened my commitment to this community.

A past President of both the Genesee County Bar Association and the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, Prosecutor Leyton is an esteemed leader in the legal profession both locally and statewide. I am truly grateful to have his support as I continue this campaign for 67th District Court Judge.

Congratulations!

I’m honored to receive the Frank J. Kelley Justice Award, the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s highest honor.

I’ve been fortunate to work alongside prosecutors, law enforcement, advocates, and community leaders committed to keeping Michiganders safe. That includes our work to fund and make permanent Michigan’s High-Crime Community Support Grant, giving communities with high rates of violent crime more resources to investigate and prosecute cases.

2 years ago we charged and convicted a mobile home park operator for violating Michigan’s Mobile Home Commission Act.

It was the first time a prosecutor brought a case against a park licensee who plead guilty, paid a $25,000 fine and-most importantly-agreed to sell the park.

Today the park, under new ownership, has invested in the property, restored essential services and made North Morris Estates a safe and habitable place for individuals and families to call home.

Today we gathered with those who fought for justice to celebrate what can happen when responsible ownership replaces corporate neglect.

Two of finest prosecutors in the history of the Genesee County Prosecutor’s office retired this week.

Deputy Chief Michael Tesner and Assistant Prosecutor Patrick McCombs bid us farewell after 25 years each of stellar service to our county.

Their legal acumen was off the charts and their dedication to the rule of law was unmatched.

They will be missed.

Please join me in thanking them for 50 years of combined service.
