Regina Salas for Flagstaff: Live Thrive Evolve FLG LIVE THRIVE EVOLVE FLG
WELL-ROUNDED LEADERSHIP
ECONOMIC DEVT, BUSINESS, NONPROFITS, RURAL TRANSPO I am Regina Salas, a Flagstaff resident for over 15 years.

I’m honored to serve Flagstaff diverse citizens and communities as a City Councilmember. My family and I moved to Flagstaff all the way from Angeles City, Philippines on Memorial weekend of May 2006 to raise two boys. My older son, Gian graduated from Flagstaff High School and was second in AIT class - Aviation Mechanic served the US Army and is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity at University of

Colorado- Colorado Springs. My younger son Kelly is attending George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia for a degree in Laboratory Science. I stand for : PRAGMATIC LEADERSHIP; PARTICIPATION & CONSENSUS-BUILDING; FOCUS ON LOCAL ISSUES; SEEK WORKABLE SOLUTIONS
As an independent, a business woman, and an immigrant naturalized US citizen, I offer the vision LIVE -THRIVE -FLAGSTAFF as individuals, as families and as communities of the City of Flagstaff. I intend to dispel and deconstruct the adage that living in Flagstaff is characterized by poverty with a view. As Flagstaff residents, we made the choice to live, thrive, grow, and retire in Flagstaff in spite of the many challenges we experience, whether we have lived here for two years, for 10 years or for over 20 years. There’s a plethora of opportunities, oftentimes unique, to live and thrive in Flagstaff. The key is to work together, discover and seize those opportunities that will serve Flagstaff citizens at every stage of personal and professional growth and development.
· Pursue pragmatic leadership for the City Council through participation and consensus-building
· Influence positive impactful change and development for the betterment of Flagstaff, its economy, citizens and surrounding communities (regional perspective)
· Promote inclusion and seek unity in diversity and adversity
· Initiate innovation, collaboration, and partnership in pursuit of a shared purpose and a common vision
LIVE-THRIVE-FLAGSTAFF: TOGETHER, NOW & THE GENERATIONS TO COME
PROVEN Leadership in Public Agencies, Private Business, Nonprofits Community engagement; Impactful connections; Public participation in policy-making; Policy research and analysis; Mediated labor disputes
Through the varied roles I played and multi-faceted responsibilities I carried out in every organization for which I have been involved, I firmly believe in seeking new connections, cultivating relationships, collaboration and partnerships in pursuit of a shared purpose and a common vision. LIVE -THRIVE -FLAGSTAFF I believe in:
• Advance economic vitality through managed and sustainable growth: balanced eco-tourism; well-planned multi-modal transportation, infrastructure development, road management, affordable housing, water conservation, alternative energy, food security, promote health and wellness
• Seek, create and galvanize opportunities for business retention & expansion, including removing barriers for businesses to survive, thrive and evolve
• Elevate public services: improve efficiency, transparency and fiscal management within the City
• Foster synergy and cooperation with Northern Arizona University, Coconino County, Coconino Community College, Flagstaff Unified School District, public agencies with regional offices in Flagstaff, employers and business organizations on housing, infrastructure, workforce development, economic development, safety, and crime prevention
• Support accessible quality education to prepare students for career and entrepreneurship: workforce development; skills training and certification for employability; STEM/STEAM Education
• Strengthen ways and means to support local enterprise and nonprofits
• Protect and preserve cultural heritage, public lands, parks, natural areas, 0pen spaces and dark skies
