🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
The Sangamon Valley Fire Protection District has always prided itself on staying on the cutting edge of emergency response. Today, we are proud to unveil one of the most innovative initiatives not only in Illinois, but possibly the entire United States.
Introducing the Responder 1000™ Quick Response Motorbike.
These custom units, imported directly from Turkmenistan, represent the latest in highly specialized emergency technology. Fire Chief Tom Pring stated, “These innovative pieces of equipment are among the finest technology coming out of Turkmenistan today. They will help us reach your emergency faster than ever before.”
Each Responder 1000 is equipped with emergency lights and a siren, can reach speeds of up to 18 mph, and boasts an impressive 10-mile range (wind and terrain permitting). Crews may request to borrow an outlet from residents after incidents to ensure a safe return to quarters.
We ask that motorists please yield and provide ample space on US Route 136 when you see these rockets responding.
Despite their compact size, these units are fully outfitted for emergency operations, including:
🔥 2.5 gallons of water
🔥 15 feet of 1.5” hose
🔥 A pump capable of deploying the entire water supply in approximately 3 seconds
For medical calls, each bike carries advanced life-saving equipment, including:
🚑 A pulse oximeter (SpO₂ sensor)
🚑 Four (4) coban bandages
We are excited to begin deploying the Responder 1000 to the streets starting today and look forward to continuing our mission of serving Sangamon Valley with innovation, speed, and excellence.
