Ferndale Youth Assistance To strengthen youth and families and to prevent and reduce incidents of juvenile delinquency, neglect

Youth Assistance Programs are community-based, and developed by volunteers who live and/ or work in the surrounding communities. The Circuit Court provides the professional staff to work with the volunteers and to provide direct casework services. Ferndale Youth Assistance works under the sponsorship and financial support of the Ferndale School District, City of Ferndale, City of Pleasant Ridge, Charter Township of Royal Oak and Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division.

FERNDALE Youth Assistance has room for a couple more families in our Holiday Help program. If you need help for the holidays, or know somebody that does, and they live within the FERNDALE School District boundaries or attend Ferndale Schools, please contact us at melinda.hicks@Ferndale schools.org. This will be on a first come, first serve basis and, please keep in mind, we only have a couple of spots left. Thanks!

Ferndale Youth Assistance is once again holding our Holiday Help program in which we provide needs (jackets, boots, clothes, pajamas, socks and underwear), food and a couple of toys for the families of the Ferndale School District. Due to what we're assuming is COVID, our donations are way down. If you're able to make a donation to us via PayPal ([email protected]) or via check sent to FYA, 881 Pinecrest, Ferndale MI 48220, we promise it will be used to make the holidays happy for a local family! The school buildings are closed but Ferndale Youth Assistance is open and ready to help with any needs you may have whether it be counseling, assistance with the holidays, scholarships for extra curricular activities or emergency needs! We are working remotely from our homes but, if you need us, you can call the office at 248-586-8700 and leave a message. We'll return your call asap. Due to COVID-19, we are anticipating a greater than normal need for Christmas this year. We're trying to get a general idea of how many people would be willing to adopt families this year. If this is something you're seriously interested in, please respond below so I can get an idea of how many families we can help this year. In a month or so, we'll post the actual form for you to commit to an adoption. Thanks much!!

This coming Thursday, September 24th, from 10:45 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m. (end time depends on supplies), Lighthouse will be distributing fresh produce at Renaissance Vineyard Church (corner of Nine Mile and Pinecrest). If you are in need, or know someone that is, please take advantage of this program sponsored by this wonderful organization!
