The Cumberland County Republican Women's Club (CCRWC) was honored to hold our monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 26, where members gathered for fellowship, learning, and service.
At CCRWC, we proudly uphold our motto: "A place where people connect, thrive, and serve with their gifts." One way we fulfill that mission is by creating a welcoming and relaxed environment where members can learn, grow, develop leadership skills, and gain confidence in serving their communities.
The meeting was led by our Vice President, Taylor Wheatley and opened with a prayer from our Chaplain, Shirlean Nichols, setting a thoughtful and inspiring tone for the evening.
We were pleased to receive updates from Robert Laverick, Chairman of the Cumberland County Republican Party, who shared important information regarding party business and upcoming initiatives. Representative Diane Wheatley NC House District 43 provided a legislative update, offering valuable insights into current issues and taking time to answer members' questions. Jessica Smal, CCRWC Secretary and Legislative Chair, also provided updates on the NCFRWC Legislative Day and highlighted key activities and discussions from the event.
Our Public Relations Chair and Veteran Advocate, Tracy Pelt Waterford, delivered an informative presentation on veterans' benefits and legislative priorities affecting those who have served our nation.
During the meeting, Shamike Bethea emphasized the importance of understanding proper parliamentary procedures and encouraged members to use CCRWC's supportive environment as a place to practice leadership skills, build confidence, and prepare for future roles within the organization and the community.
Together, we continue to learn, lead, and serve. We are grateful for every member who contributes their talents, experiences,, and passion to make CCRWC a place where women truly connect, thrive, and serve with their gifts.
We invite all interested individuals to join us for our next meeting on June 23, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Come connect with fellow community members, learn about current issues, and discover opportunities to get involved and make a difference.
