Yesterday, Farmington Hills Police and Farmington Hills Fire competed in some friendly competition in an effort to get people to donate blood through the Red Cross. This competition is open for everyone that’s able and willing to donate, and you get to donate and pick police officers or firefighters. Lt. McDonald and Officer Kean made sure we got an extra two votes by donating on behalf of the police department. We will likely host another “Battle of the Badges” in January, and we would love to see more members of the community come together to save lives. Honoring Sgt. Patrick O’Rourke
Today marks 14 years since Sgt. Patrick O’Rourke of the West Bloomfield Police Department made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
As a neighboring agency, we pause today to honor Sgt. O’Rourke and remember his unwavering commitment to protecting and serving his community. His courage, dedication, and sacrifice left a lasting impact that continues to be felt to this day.
Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who knew and served alongside him. The loss of an officer in the line of duty is a pain that never truly fades, and today, we stand with those who continue to carry that loss.
Thank you, Sgt. O’Rourke, for your service and sacrifice. You are remembered, honored, and never forgotten. 💙🖤 West Bloomfield PD

A special shoutout to Officer Kosal & Officer Hilden (and their families), who put in countless extra hours to make sure these two are well cared for, happy, and loved just like regular dogs when they’re off duty.
