Our Food Pantry is completely out of plastic bags, and we need your help! Bags are essential for packing groceries for our neighbors each day.

On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the request of the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), a statewide test of emergency alerting systems will occur between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. As part of this drill, cities across Texas may test systems used to notify the public during emergencies.

Depending on the jurisdiction you are in at the time of the test, you may receive a test alert on your mobile phone and/or hear outdoor warning sirens. Farmers Branch will activate its emergency notification system, BranchAlert, at 10:00 a.m. for users that have opted into receiving severe weather alerts via text message, email, or phone call.

Farmers Branch will NOT sound the outdoor warning sirens on Thursday, April 2nd. The outdoor warning siren test will be conducted like normal on Wednesday, April 1st, at 1:00pm in accordance with the normal testing schedule.

This is only a test. No emergency action is required.

Testing helps ensure emergency alerts work when they are needed most.
