Webster defines a best friend as "a person's closest and dearest friend."

We define it as someone who keeps a friendship alive through constant texts, frequent phone calls, and the occasional invasion of personal space.

While these two are no longer on the same shift, they somehow still manage to spend an impressive amount of time bothering each other.

Some friendships are built on common interests. This one appears to be built on mutual annoyance.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that retired Farmers Branch Police K9 Bullet passed peacefully at home on Friday, surrounded by his handler, Lt. Grigg, and family.

During his incredible 8-year career with the department, Bullet was a relentless worker whose dedication and drive led to many significant drug seizures and arrests.

Following his retirement in 2021, Bullet traded his working-dog duties for the role of cherished family companion, enjoying time with the family and playing with their Frenchies.

We are incredibly thankful for Bullet’s years of faithful service and the impact he made throughout his career. Please keep Lt. Grigg and his family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
