Philippine Association of Metropolitan Washington Engineers (PAMWE) PAMWE brings together Filipino-American engineers in the DMV area to learn, lead, and lift one another. THE PAMWE STORY IS A SUCCESS STORY !

Empowering our community through mentorship, learning, and connection. Follow us, get involved, and help us build bridges— in engineering and beyond! Following the launching of its first scholarship in the University of the Philippines in 1981, PAMWE has granted 117 scholarship terms in the Philippines as well as in the United States. The school beneficiaries are: Cebu Institute of Technology, De

La Salle University, St. Louis University, University of the Philippines, University of San Agustin, Notre Dame University, AMA Computer College, Mapua Institute of Technology, and University of Maryland here in the United States. To date, The PAMWE Foundation has established nine perpetual engineering scholarships in the Philippines. Several newly-arrived engineers in the United States have gained employment through PAMWE's Placement Assistance Program. Networking among PAMWE members have also led to better employment in engineering positions. In addition, PAMWE's Continuing Education Program and Seminars enhance the knowledge of its membership. Many of the members have also broken the proverbial "glass ceiling" establishing themselves in managerial positions, both in the private and government sectors. Some members are engaged in their own contracting and consulting enterprises. Today, PAMWE is well known in the Filipino-American community as one of the leaders helping to improve and uphold the quality and standard of engineering profession among Filipino engineers.

PAMWE Members and Friends:

All of you are invited to attend PAMWE’s 2024 Annual Meeting and Continuing Education Event to be held this year at the Lincolnia Senior Center Dining Hall (4710 N. Chambliss Street, Alexandria, VA 22312) on Saturday, February 24, 2024, starting at 10:30am and ending around 3:30pm. As usual, a FREE luncheon will be served. We will have a potluck buffet of Filipino food (pancit palabok, lumpia hubad, menudo, rice) plus deserts and drinks. You may bring your favorite dishes and drinks (non-alcoholic) if you wish.

PAMWE held its October annual Continuing Education Seminar. Each year PAMWE holds two seminars to its members to stay current with the latest developments, skills, and new technologies in our engineering fields. In addition, we also invited guests to talk about anything that interest our members such us wellness, financial management, taxes or history.

This seminar we had Engr. Carlos Alvano, Col William Cunningham, USMC (retired), Engr. Ronald Llobrera and Engr. Javier Ibe.

On May 25, 2016, PAMWE officers were invited to a lunch event for the Ambassador Cuisia and Madam Cuisia, hosted by Dr Charles Nguyen, Dean of Engineering at the Catholic University of America (CUA) and Mrs. Kim-Yen Nguyen, at their magnificent home in Annandale, Virginia. The Dean thanked the Ambassador for fascilitating the establishment of the Pope Francis Scholarship in the Philippines. PAMWE President Hazel Russell, Secretary and past President Carl Layno and Scholarship Chairwoman and past President Hilda Leuterio Gigioli, are invited to this special lunch for the ambassador.

On May 20, 2016, PAMWE attended the farewell dinner event for the Ambassador Cuisia and Madam Vicky Cuisia hosted by the Philippine Humanitarian Coalition (PHC).
