Today we join communities across the country in celebrating Lights On Afterschool, the nationwide event that shines a spotlight on the important role afterschool programs play in helping children learn, grow, and succeed. Launched in 2000 by the Lights On Afterschool initiative, this annual celebration highlights how afterschool programs support students, families, and communities through safe, enriching, and engaging opportunities beyond the school day.

At Family Service Association's After School Day Care Program, we see that impact every day. From homework support and educational activities to social development and recreation, our program provides a caring environment where children can learn, connect, and thrive after the school bell rings. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, FSA recognizes the importance of providing families with the tools and support they need to succeed. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a reminder of the importance of respecting cultural identity, promoting equity, and ensuring that all individuals and families have access to the support they need to thrive. Through our programs serving children, families, older adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those seeking behavioral health and community-based services, we remain committed to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where every person is valued and supported.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we stand with survivors, those currently in treatment, their families, and everyone impacted by breast cancer.

At Family Service Association, we understand that health challenges affect more than just the individual. Through programs that support caregivers, older adults, families, and individuals facing life's most difficult moments, we are committed to helping our community access the care, resources, and support they need.

Together, we can raise awareness, encourage early detection, and support those on their journey.
