The video of the Platte Canyon Candidate Forum is now up on our YouTube Channel (link below) if you'd like to see what some of the candidates for Assessor, Clerk & Recorder, Commissioner, Coroner, Sheriff, and Treasurer had to say. The time stamp for each segment is posted as well so you can easily find each candidates' sections. Apologies for it looking blurry, something strange happened to the video quality when uploading it.

We would like to thank the Like Minded Unite group for organizing the event and inviting all of the candidates so constituents have the opportunity to learn more and make informed votes. We extend our appreciation to all of the candidates who have stepped up to serve their communities - it takes a great deal of time, effort, and caring to do so, and we are grateful to you for that dedication.

Big weekend coming up! Lots of events and activities supporting local organizations - especially BINGO! Tonight in Alma for the last one of the season, and Saturday in Como for their first! Also a weekend of FOOD!
Alma Bingo & potluck tonight (Thursday) at 6pm (7pm bingo)
and Saturday:
🍳Breakfast in Jefferson at the JCCA starting at 7:30am
🍔Lunch in Fairplay at Ace (see Kim and team!), Grilling for Good supporting the South Park Food Bank at 11am-2pm
🍴Dinner at the Como Bingo and All You Can Eat!!

Thanks Guffey for a wonderful morning of pancakes, cars and great conversations with neighbors at the Hot Rods and Hot Cakes breakfast! Good to make some new friends, and meet longtime residents and folks new to the county! A few of my non-Jeep favorites in the pics. Next weekend - lots of cooking! Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

What a great Saturday at South Park ACE Hardware & Lumber Grilling for Good for South Park Food Bank!!
Thank you to all who came out to enjoy hot dogs and burgers and support our neighbors with meals year ‘round! So many burgers!
The struggle is real in Park County, for families and furry friends. The “Best of Park County” (non-profit) Food Bank, volunteers working with donor partners and local businesses like Prather’s Market, do amazing work supplying nutritious food boxes, fresh milk, meats, fruits, vegetables, breads, snacks and more as well as pet food - cans, kibble and treats - to families coming from all across the county.
As costs increase for necessities - like gas - our neighbors struggle in silence, often forgoing important things including sacrificing the ability to enjoy the beauty of our county or spend time with our neighbors. A little help can go a long way not just in nutrition but in the happiness, health and future of our county. Thanks for your support!

At the BOCC’s Short Term Rental (STR) “North” meeting, which has our NorthWest Fire Department here in person along with a dozen or so neighbors, and well over 80 people in the Zoom. Lots in of interest.
The public ask seems to be for enforcement, and not setting restrictive limits ‘butter knifed’ across the communities. The math and numbers provided prior were assured to not be part of the ordinance, despite having the ability to set such limits in the resolution.
What are your ideas for Park County to realize the economic opportunity while managing housing affordability and community impact?

Woohoo! Unofficially official! On the Primary Ballot for the Park County Democratic Party for Park County Commissioner, District 3! Thank you Assembly Delegates!
I know there was only one option, and uncommitted was looking tempting, but thanks for your unanimous support!!
Incredibly excited for this journey with a full party bus!

Caucus day!! At least for the Park County Democrats - be sure to register in advance to participate! Everyone is welcome! Meet your candidates - including yours truly! Easy to join - it’s on Zoom! Only registered Democratic Party folk may vote in straw polls, but all are welcome - register here with this Google form to get the link and credentialed.

DEADLINE TODAY!! February 9 is the LAST DAY to register as a Democrat to participate in the Park County Democratic Party (zoom) Caucus, March 3!
Caucus is a key step in the campaign and lead up to November's general election. In Caucus, you get to see, meet and vet candidates up and down the county ballot - maybe even run for office yourself!
Anyone is welcome to participate in Caucus, but only registered Democratic Party members will be able to vote in Caucus or be a delegate to the County Assembly, March 10, where the Party's nominees are chosen, heading to the Primary in June, which would include folks that petition on to the Party's Primary ballot, and where Unaffiliated folks can pick a Party's Primary ballot and vote it.
Check your voter registration with the Colorado Secretary of State's website!
